Top 5 Pokémon sets with best pull rates in 2025

If you, like me, regularly open Pokémon packs, you know that not every set is equally generous. Sometimes you empty an entire booster box without actually getting any hits. You want to avoid that. That's why I'm sharing the five sets with the best draw rates in 2025, based on my own experience, sales data, and what I hear from other collectors.

1. Paldean Fates

Paldean Fates is without a doubt the set with the highest draw rate right now. As you know, it's all about Shiny Pokémon. And that's reflected in the packs.

You have two chances to hit each pack: one in the reverse slot (Shiny Vault) and one in the regular rare. From my own experience, I average one good card for every two boosters, and sometimes even more.

However, be aware: the prices of the pulls are slightly lower than those of older shiny sets. But the fun and consistency more than make up for that.

2. Temporal Forces

I was skeptical about Temporal Forces at first. But after opening a booster box, I was convinced. This set delivers many special illustration rares and powerful trainers.

The artwork is also excellent. Think cards from Roaring Moon and Iron Boulder. And with 3 to 5 full-art pulls per box, you're scoring above average.

This is a smart choice for both players and collectors.

3. Obsidian Flames

Obsidian Flames is often overlooked. And unfairly so. Of course, it's mostly about Charizard ex Tera, but there's more to it than that.

What's striking: even individual packs or ETBs often yield hits. I personally got two full arts and a rare illustration from an ETB, which is rare.

As you know, Charizard sets are often "hype without substance." Not this one. Here you really get your money's worth.

4. Scarlet & Violet 151

151 is technically from late 2023, but it's still very relevant in 2025. Why? Because it brings nostalgia and strong pull rates .

The set is organized clearly (according to Pokédex order) and generously includes full arts. Think starters, Mew, and classic Kanto Pokémon.

Packs from mini tins and bundles also yield a surprising amount. And believe me, that doesn't happen with every special set.

5. Surging Sparks

Surging Sparks might just be the most underrated set of all time. The name says it all: it's all about electricity and speed, and that's reflected in the pulls.

What makes this set special is the balance between playable cards and collectible hits. Think of popular Pokémon like Raging Bolt, Tapu Koko, and the various Paradox Electric types. The special illustration rares are particularly striking: vibrant colors, energetic compositions, and often Pokémon that haven't been in the spotlight before.

In terms of draw rate, you're good. In a booster box, you can expect about 4–6 full hits, often spread between illustration rares and full arts. You also hear surprisingly often about success stories from individual blisters and 3-pack blisters – as if the set is just a little more generous than average.

My advice

Don't just choose a set because the box looks nice. Think carefully about what you're looking for: excitement, value, or artwork.

Want consistent fun? Go for Paldean Fates or Surging Sparks. Prefer higher-value cards? Choose Temporal Forces or Obsidian Flames. And if you want nostalgia and good draws, 151 remains a top choice.

Buy your products from a reputable retailer, like RareCards.nl, and avoid loose packs from the supermarket. This way, you can be sure you're not dealing with weighed or pre-sorted items.
