Accessories

Which accessories you need depends on what you do with your cards. In practice they fall into three groups:

• Protecting. Card sleeves, toploaders and semi rigid holders, for every card you would rather not leave lying around loose.
• Storing. A binder keeps a collection organised and easy to page through, so you can look at a set without handling every card.
• Displaying. Acrylic displays and graded card cases, to put a booster box, an ETB or a graded card on show exactly the way you want to see it.

We work with brands that prove themselves in practice: Ultra Pro for sleeves, toploaders and binders, The Acrylic Box for displays, and GradedGuard and Beckett Shield for graded cards.

In layers — and which layers you need depends on the situation.

A single valuable card

First a soft sleeve around the card, then a toploader around that. The sleeve prevents scratches when sliding the card in and out, the toploader absorbs bending and knocks. If you are sending a card in for grading, use a semi rigid holder instead of a toploader — PSA specifically asks for those and does not accept toploaders.

A whole collection

A 9-pocket binder is the usual choice: nine cards per page, so eighteen per sheet if you fill both sides. If you take the binder with you, pick one with a side closure or zip so nothing can slide out.

Graded cards and sealed products

A slab already sits in a hard case, but that case scratches and yellows. A graded card case or acrylic display keeps it clean and puts it on show at the same time. The same goes for sealed booster boxes and Elite Trainer Boxes: they deserve protection from light and dust if you plan to keep them closed.
