Which Pokémon battle decks are there?

A battle deck is a complete 60-card deck you can play straight away, with the rules, damage counters and usually a coin or dice. There are three kinds you run into:

Battle Deck

The basic version, meant for learning the game or playing casually. Playable out of the box, but not built to win tournaments with.

League Battle Deck

The exception to that rule. A League Battle Deck is based on a list that has actually been played at tournaments and holds stronger cards, including Trainer cards that are expensive on their own. That makes such a deck cost more, but you do get a deck that can keep up.

ex Battle Deck

A deck built around one Pokémon ex, with that card in the lead. This is the current version. In the Sword & Shield era the same product was called a V Battle Deck, with a Pokémon V at its centre; those are no longer made, but they are still around.

Teaching someone the game? Take a plain Battle Deck. Want to play competitively yourself? Look at a League Battle Deck. And if you mainly want that one Pokémon, the ex Battle Deck is the cheapest way to have a playable deck around it.
