Magic: The Gathering

Magic: The Gathering is the oldest trading card game there is. It appeared in 1993 and laid down the blueprint almost every card game since has built on: lands as a resource, creatures on the board, and spells that turn a game around. The depth of the game is still what its reputation rests on.

What sets Magic apart is how many different ways there are to be involved with it. There are sets with a world of their own, crossovers with other franchises, and versions of the same card in foil, extended art or borderless that exist mainly for collectors.

A Play Booster is the standard pack: the one you play and draft with. You get a cross-section of the set, with the regular cards and the chance at a rare or mythic.

A Collector Booster is a completely different product. It holds almost nothing but special versions: foils, extended art, borderless versions and the rarer treatments you barely come across in a Play Booster. Such a pack costs more and is meant for collectors, not for playing with.
