What types of Pokémon blister packs do you have?

Blister packs are very popular, and for good reason. You always get something extra with your booster packs. Think of special promo cards, a coin, or even fun extras like stickers.

Tip:Promotional cards in blister packs are often worth some money. So put them in a sleeve and top loader, so that you protect them well and preserve their value.

There are many different types of blister packs, such as checklane blisters, premium checklane blisters, and tech sticker blisters. But they can all be divided into three main categories:

1-pack blister

A 1-pack blister contains, as the name suggests,1 booster pack. Here are two variations:

  • regular 1-pack blister, with 1 promo card.
  • Premium checklane blister, with 3 promo cards. These are often the evolution line of a Pokémon.

2-pack blister

The 2-pack blister contains 2 booster packs. These can be two packs from the same set, but also packs from different sets. In addition, you often get 1 or 3 promo cards at, and almost always a nice coin.

3-pack blister

The 3-pack blister contains 3 booster packs and usually 1 promo card plus a coin. With the newest sets, all packs are usually the same, but this blister has a unique variant that the 1- and 2-packs don't have: the tech sticker blister. Here a cool sticker replaces the coin, a nice extra for collectors.

What is in a blister pack?

A blister is a card of cardboard holding one, two or three booster packs, almost always together with a foil promo card and often a metal coin. The versions you run into most:

  • Checklane blister — 1 pack, 1 promo card and a coin. The format that hangs by the till.
  • Premium checklane blister — 1 pack, but with a complete evolution line as foil promo cards instead of a single card.
  • 3-pack blister — 3 packs and a promo card.
  • Enhanced blister — 2 packs with several promo cards, often around a theme or a holiday.

The point of a blister is the promo card. It does not come out of the packs and exists only in that product, so if you want a specific promo, a blister is usually the shortest and cheapest route to it. The packs themselves are the same as loose packs from that set.
