Frequently Asked Questions

Are the individual cards you sell original?

Yes, all our cards are 100% official from The Pokémon Company. We don't sell counterfeit cards.

What condition are the cards in?

The condition is listed on the product page of every card. RareCards uses six grades: Near Mint, Excellent, Good, Light Played, Played and Poor. You can read what each grade means exactly on our card conditions page.

How are individual cards packaged?

Every single card goes into a sleeve. More valuable cards also go into a toploader, and everything is wrapped in bubble wrap. That way your card arrives in the same condition it left here.

Do you also sell graded cards (PSA, BGS, CGC)?

Yes. RareCards sells graded cards from PSA, BGS (Beckett) and CGC. They have been assessed on condition and authenticity by the grading company and come in a sealed case with a unique certificate number. Our full range is on the Pokémon Graded Slabs page.

Single Pokémon Cards

Single Pokémon cards are cards you buy one at a time instead of hoping to pull them from a pack. That covers everything: ordinary cards from recent sets, illustration rares, vintage holos and promos that were never in a regular set.

Why buy singles? Because the odds are slim. If you are after one specific card from a set, you can open a whole run of booster packs without meeting it. For players the same applies twice over: a deck needs certain cards in multiples, and that cannot be planned with packs. Buying singles is simply the shortest route in both cases.

Above you will find all our single Pokémon cards. Everything is 100% original and the condition is listed with every card.

What does the condition of a card mean?

Every single card comes with a condition, following the standard used across the whole hobby. On a card that has been around for years that is the most important thing there is to say about it: the same card in a different state is a different product in practice.

Four things are looked at: the corners, the edges, the surface and the centring of the print. On modern cards the difference usually sits in the edges — the black border is the least forgiving part. On vintage cards the centring weighs heaviest, because cutting was less precise back then and off-centre copies simply came out of the factory that way. What each grade means exactly is on our card condition page.

Every card leaves here in a sleeve or a toploader, so that the condition listed is also the condition you receive.
