1. Premium collection box

A premium collection box is often packed with extras. You usually get a large number of booster packs, multiple promo cards (sometimes even in jumbo size) and often nice extras such as pins or coins.

2. Ex box

This box is all about one specific Pokémon. You will always receive a ex-card of those Pokémon, often in combination with booster packs and sometimes also a jumbo card.

3. V box

Like the EX Box, the V box also for one specific Pokémon. In this you will always find a V-card, often a matching jumbo card and of course a number of booster packs to open.

Why buy a collection box?

For what comes alongside the packs. A collection box holds several booster packs plus one or more promo cards, and depending on the version also a jumbo card, a pin, a coin, stickers, a binder or a figure. Those promo cards exist only in that product.

What to watch when comparing: the number of packs differs enormously per version. An ex Box has a handful, a Premium Collection more, and an Ultra-Premium Collection runs into the dozens. The size of the box says nothing about that number, so go by what is listed per box and not by how big it looks.

Put simply: if you are buying a collection box for the packs, count the packs. If you are buying it for the promo card or the extra, that is the whole point and the packs are secondary.
