Everything about Pokémon Paldea Evolved

Paldea Evolved was released on 9 June 2023 as the second major expansion within the Scarlet & Violet series. The set builds further on the themes and characters of the Paldea region and brings that world to life again with colourful cards and dynamic artwork.

With 279 cards, Paldea Evolved is one of the larger modern sets. Much of the attention goes to the Tera Pokémon ex, which have had a lot of influence on competitive play thanks to their high HP and unusual type combinations. The evolutions of the three Paldea starters – Sprigatito, Fuecoco and Quaxly – also get their full ex treatment in this set, which makes it extra appealing for fans of the video games.

Besides the playing cards, Paldea Evolved is known above all for its strong line-up of Illustration Rares and Special Illustration Rares. These cards, with their detailed and often narrative artwork, quickly grew into favourites among collectors. Magikarp in particular drew a lot of attention thanks to its unique, painterly artwork that immediately stood out within the TCG community.

For players the set offers plenty of new strategies thanks to a broad selection of Trainer cards and Special Energy cards. Collectors mostly appreciate the atmosphere and artistic direction of the artwork, which fits the style of the Paldea region perfectly.
