A real blockbuster is on the way: OP-17 The World's Strongest Warriors has been officially announced, and this is no ordinary set. It's the anniversary set marking four years of the One Piece Card Game, and it revolves entirely around the Yonko and the new Elbaf arc. When does OP-17 come out?

OP-17 is being released in two steps. The pre-release starts on 21 August 2026: from that day you're allowed to play the cards at events at your local game store, and that event runs until 13 September. The Japanese version comes out on 22 August 2026 and the international (English) version follows on 28 August 2026.

Since this year Bandai has been releasing everything worldwide at virtually the same time, so you no longer have to wait months for the English version like with the older sets. Which products are coming?

At the release of OP-17 you can expect at least these products:

  • Booster Box (display with 24 packs)
  • Single Booster Packs
  • Double Pack Set Vol.12 — 2 boosters plus an exclusive DON!! card
  • Blisters, and for the first time in four different artworks

Why is OP-17 so interesting?

This set is the big celebration of four years of the One Piece Card Game, and you can see that in the card list. OP-17 counts 131 cards plus 4 extra, so 135 in total, and introduces a brand-new rarity: the Treasure Rare.

The theme might well be the strongest of all sets so far: the Yonko take centre stage, backed up by the heavy hitters from the Elbaf arc. Six leaders have been confirmed, neatly spread across the colours: Edward Newgate (red), Monkey D. Luffy (black), Shanks (green), Kaido (purple), Charlotte Linlin a.k.a. Big Mom (yellow) and Rocks D. Xebec (blue). The fact that Rocks D. Xebec becomes a leader for the first time is reason enough for many players to keep an eye on this set.

For collectors, the excitement is in the chase cards. The original four Yonko, Whitebeard, Shanks, Kaido and Big Mom, all get a Manga Rare, and from the Elbaf storyline come cards of Loki and a Luffy in giant armour. Pre-release or official release: what can you expect when?

The pre-release on 21 August is meant for in-store events; from that moment the cards are legal to play. The real retail release, when displays and blisters become widely available, is 28 August 2026 (Japan 22 August). For pre-orders we work with the official release date: you order in advance, and we ship as soon as the stock arrives.
