The Pokémon TCG world is getting ready for something special. On 30 January 2026 Ascended Heroes arrives — the very first holiday set within the Mega Evolution run. For collectors that is immediately interesting: holiday sets are produced differently and do not appear as regular sets. That usually means a more compact product line, no booster boxes and often a lower total print run. In the past that regularly made holiday sets harder to find, and Ascended Heroes looks set to continue that tradition.

Mega Evolutions make a big return

Ascended Heroes is all about Mega Evolutions, with an impressive run of new Mega Evolution Pokémon making their debut in the modern TCG line. Among others, Charizard Y, Dragonite, Gengar, Hawlucha, Eelektross and several as-yet-unrevealed Pokémon appear in their Mega Evolution ex form. Charizard Y and Gengar in particular stand out as possible chase cards, thanks in part to their popularity and the special artwork that holiday sets often bring with them.

The set structure of Ascended Heroes

Ascended Heroes is a large holiday set and contains, among other things:

• 20+ Mega Evolution ex cards
  Confirmed names: Charizard, Gengar, Gardevoir and Lucario
• 15+ Trainer cards
• 33+ Illustration Rares (IR)
  Including Charizard Y & Gengar
• 12+ Ultra Rares (UR)
  Mega Evolution ex, Trainers and Item, Tool and Stadium cards
• 8+ Special Illustration Rares (SIR)
  Mega Evolution Pokémon and Supporter cards

With more than 285 cards, Ascended Heroes looks like one of the more extensive holiday sets so far. The number of IRs and SIRs in particular is higher than you normally see, which leaves plenty of room for strong artwork and popular chase cards.

Japanese releases come earlier

As usual, the Japanese versions appear earlier. The Japanese version of this set is called Mega Dream ex and comes out on 28 November 2025. On top of that, cards from the Japanese Start Deck 100 Battle Collection, which appears on 19 December 2025, are also being included in the international Ascended Heroes set. That gives a good first impression of the artwork style, the set structure and the possible rare cards we can expect in early 2026.

Ascended Heroes products

Below you will find all the products that are officially confirmed at this point. Holiday sets are often revealed in stages, so more special boxes will undoubtedly be added later.

Ascended Heroes Booster Pack

The single booster pack contains 11 cards per pack and is perfect for anyone who wants to work through the set at a calm pace or simply open a single booster. The booster pack appears at the same time as the set, on 30 January 2026.

Ascended Heroes Booster Bundle

The Booster Bundle appears on 24 April 2026 and contains several boosters packaged together. This product is ideal for players and collectors who prefer to open somewhat larger quantities of cards at once without having to reach for premium boxes.

Ascended Heroes Elite Trainer Box

The Elite Trainer Box comes out on 20 February 2026 and contains 9 booster packs, accessories, sleeves and energies. The ETB comes with an exclusive promo: N’s Reshiram. Thanks to the combination of boosters and playable accessories, this remains one of the most popular products in every release.

Ascended Heroes Premium Poster Collection

This collector’s box contains 10 booster packs and appears on 20 March 2026. There will be two different versions of this box:
– One with Mega Lucario ex as the promo
– One with Mega Gardevoir ex as the promo
On top of that, every box contains an exclusive poster, which makes it extra attractive for display collectors.

Ascended Heroes Tech Sticker Collection

This product appears on 30 January 2026 and contains 3 booster packs, combined with themed stickers. There are two versions of this one as well:
– Charmander as the promo
– Gastly as the promo
Especially popular among younger collectors or players who appreciate extra accessories.

Ascended Heroes Mini Tins

This display appears on 20 February 2026 and contains 10 Mini Tins in total. There will be 5 different artworks, each with a matching theme. Every tin holds boosters and a coin, packaged in a compact, collectible tin.

Ascended Heroes Collection

The Ascended Heroes Collection contains 2 booster packs, together with a Larry promo and a matching coin. This product launches on 30 January 2026 and is especially loved by collectors of blister promo cards and coin collectors.
