What's in the Pokémon Advent Calendar 2023?

As a collector, I look forward to the Pokémon Advent Calendar every year. Not because I expect to find rare chase cards, but because it’s just fun. Opening a box every day, just like in the old days. And this year? The 2023 edition certainly won’t disappoint.

In this blog I will give you a clear overview of the content. I will also tell you honestly what you can get out of it as a collector or fan.

What exactly is the Pokémon Advent Calendar?

As you know, an advent calendar is a box with 24 compartments. Normally, it contains chocolate, but Pokémon does it differently. You get cards, coins, stickers, and other surprises. It is not a product for hard investors, but it is a perfect December experience.

This calendar is meant for counting down the days until Christmas — or just ripping it all open at once, as many collectors do (I admit, me too).

Contents of the Pokémon Advent Calendar 2023

The 2023 edition contains a mix of cards, packs, and accessories. Some items are exclusive and only available in this box. The exact order varies per copy, but the contents are mostly the same.

What do you get?

  • 8 foil promo cards with winter artwork
Think of Pikachu with a hat or a snowy landscape behind Delibird. Really nice for your folder.
  • 5 normal booster packs
Often from sets like Silver Tempest or Brilliant Stars . No guarantee of big hits, but always fun to open.
  • 7 fun packs (3-card boosters)
Small, but surprising. Ideal for young collectors or to quickly browse through.
  • 2 Pokémon coins
Shiny coins with popular Pokémon. Nice extra, especially when you play.
  • 2 sticker sheets
Not a must-have, but nice if you have kids or want to decorate your binder a bit.
  • 1 key ring or Christmas pendant
Often a winter Pikachu or another well-known Pokémon. Perfect for the Christmas tree.
  • 1 mini notepad
Not exciting, but handy. For notes or TCG ideas.
  • 1 Pokémon TCG Live Code Card
Always nice when you also play online.

My experience and advice

I bought this calendar myself, mainly for the winter promos. And honestly? Those alone make it worth it. You get unique cards that are not in boosters, and that is exactly what makes this product special.

However, don't expect big pulls. The packs are nice, but it's all about atmosphere and experience. If you're purely going for hits, better buy an ETB or booster box .

For kids this is a great gift. They get something every day, and the value is spread over different types of items. As a collector you can also have fun with it - especially if you are a fan of exclusive promos and Christmas themes.

Who is this calendar interesting for?

  • 📦 For young collectors: fun mix of packs, stickers and coins
  • 🧊 For fans of unique winter cards
  • 🎄 For those looking for something to make December more fun
  • 🧠 For casual collectors who like variety

If you’re someone who only cares about rare, valuable cards, you might want to skip this one. But if you enjoy opening something unique and seasonal, the Pokémon Advent Calendar 2023 is a great choice.
