Celebrations is a special expansion within the Sword & Shield series, released on 8 October 2021 for the 25th anniversary of the Pokémon Trading Card Game. The set holds 50 cards: a base set of 25 and a Classic Collection of 25 reprints of famous cards from across the game's history.

That Classic Collection is what makes Celebrations special, but it also causes confusion. They are reprints of cards such as the Base Set Charizard and the Neo Genesis Lugia, carrying the anniversary logo and their own numbering. At first glance they look like the original, but they are cards from 2021. So always check the logo and the set symbol before assuming you are holding a vintage card — with this set that is the most important thing there is to check.
