Base Set 2

Base Set 2 is the fourth set of the Pokémon Trading Card Game, released on 24 February 2000. The set holds 130 cards and consists entirely of reprints from Base Set and Jungle, including Charizard, Blastoise and Venusaur. It is the game's first reprint set.

The fact that nothing in it is new makes one thing important: a Charizard from Base Set 2 has exactly the same artwork as the one from the Base Set. The difference is the small set symbol next to the illustration and the years printed at the bottom. That difference matters a great deal for the value, so with these cards you always check the symbol before assuming anything.
